HANDS IN THE DIRT
THINKING ABOUT VOLUNTEERING?
If you like what we do and what we are about, then consider playing a part in making a more edible Toronto through volunteering for us. We like to think about our volunteering opportunities like an exchange, in return for giving us your valuable time, and bringing with it your unique skills, you will be a part of the FoodCycles Team, meeting new people and making new friends while learning about vegetable gardening and composting.
At FoodCycles it is our belief that there is a green thumb in everyone, and there are many opportunities throughout the growing season for planting and harvesting. Witnessing the results of your labour with a sense of accomplishment, and knowing your involvement from seed to full grown vegetable is a very rewarding experience. If seeing where your food comes from and how it's grown isn't interesting enough, working in the field is very theraputic and good exercise. An afternoon spent in the field, can lend itself as an escape from urban living, on a farm that is TTC accessible!!
We can tell you all the different reasons why you should volunteer, but the most important reason is to have fun and be happy knowing your efforts and labour are supporting a good cause.
Volunteer Hours are every _________ at __ pm to ______pm at the greenhouse. Also feel free to contribute in other ways, from silk screening t-shirts to helping us with our blog.
