How many people does a share feed?

Choosing a share size involves looking carefully at your appetite, dietary choices and restrictions as well as your eating patterns.  Are you a vegan or vegetarian?  Do you prepare most of your meals at home?  How big is your typical bowl of salad?  Do you enjoy canning, preserving or fermenting?  Do you like to share food with your friends and neighbours?  Keeping that in mind:

A lite share is valued at $10 worth of produce/week.  A half size share is valued at $16 of produce/week. A regular size share is valued at $25 worth of produce/week.

When does the CSA begin?

Distribution begins the first Tuesday of July and continues until mid-October.

Where is the pick-up time and location?

Shares are available Tuesdays between 3:00pm and 7:00pm.  Members pick up at FoodCycles Farm.  For directions, please click HERE.

What happens if I am unable to pick up my produce on a given week?

Share your share!  Due to limited refrigeration capacity, we are not able to store produce for excessive amounts of time. Produce not picked-up will be distributed to local service agencies. If you're planning a holiday or will be out of town, consider offering your share to neighbors or friends. Please notify us of their name and they can pick up your share in your absence.

What can I expect in my share?

We grow over 60 varieties of vegetables and fruit, including, but not limited to: lettuce, Asian greens, radishes, garlic, summer squash, tomatoes, spinach, leeks, melons, winter squash, potatoes, beets, potatoes, carrots, and onions.  Produce availability changes from year to year.  Some items will be available every other week while others will might only be harvested for one or two weeks.

Is the produce organic?

Although FoodCycles is not certified organic, we use 100% organic and sustainable growing methods on the farm.

What happens if I need to cancel my membership in the middle of the season?

If for any reason you need to cancel your membership prior to April 1st, you will receive a refund less the nonrefundable $100 deposit. After April 1st, a refund will only be offered if individuals on our waiting list are interested in purchasing the share. Although shares are in demand, we cannot guarantee that a buyer can be found for your share—especially late in the growing season.

How do I sign up?

We are now accepting new members for the 2011 season.  If you would like to purchase a share, please click HERE or contract our Farm Manager at 647-453-3663
